Personal training and fitness log – w/e Sunday 6th January

The New Year started as you’d expect with a very slow day. Nothing much achieved apart from recover from a 03.00 finish. In my defence, I did well, as many of my younger friends had departed well before that.

Wednesday was a different matter and started two friends on, what we hope will be, a change of regime compared to last year. Broad focus is on maximizing the benefit from time in the gym by looking at weights and intervals.

From a personal perspective, I’m ramping up the training again now that my (broken) ribs are settling down and Christmas (and it’s excesses) is out of the way. I’m taking my own medicine and focusing on weights & intervals. The only hitch was Saturday’s bout of dead-mills (self-powering a standard treadmill with intervals thrown in) resulted in a minor calf strain.
